Living Labs

The purpose of the Living Labs (LL) is to validate the capabilities of both the 5G technology and the use cases of the vertical industries so as to enable their commercial exploitation. During the project, each LL will deploy a layered testing practice to drive development, involving significant industry representative tests, verifications and validations: (i) tests using specific use cases oriented for dedicated single or multi-concurrent vertical industries, and (ii) test, measurements, validation and demonstration of LLs in the field.

In total, more than 140 target technological KPI values will be validated per 3GPP release, related to peak data rates, mobility, latency, connection density, reliability, positioning accuracy, coverage, device autonomy and Quality of Experience. In addition, the business potential of each UC will be validated, directly by the end-user actors, through relevant business metrics, to ensure that each of the use cases to be trialed is well-positioned to respond to the needs of the market.
